Neighbourhood Plan
Drayton's future is in your hands

Drayton's Neighbourhood Plan was adopted in 2016 and is currently being reviewed to ensure Drayton stays the kind of place we all want to live in.

The updated Plan will guide decisions on housing, green spaces, local facilities and the character of the area for years to come.

  • Protect what matters: Help preserve the places and features you love about Drayton including safer walking, cycling and driving routes.

  • Plan for the future: Influence what kind of homes get built and which green spaces and views are protected.

  • Support local priorities: Ensure investment for facilities and activities for all ages.

This is your community, don't miss your chance to shape it - have your say by completing our online survey - your answers will help shape Drayton for the next 15 years!

Complete it online at www.smartsurvey.co.uk/s/DraytonNP or pick up a hard copy from the Bob Carter Centre.

Planning Applications

Parish councils have the right to make comments on planning applications affecting their area.

The planning authority allows a parish council 21 days to respond to a planning application.  The application will feature on the Parish Council agenda as an item to be discussed.

Members of the public are welcome to attend all meetings and, can speak during the public participation item to give their views on any planning application.  They are also encouraged to provide their own comments on the District Council's planning pages.

If there is not a meeting within the 21 days, the parish council applies to extend the time limit.  Whilst the overall decision is the planning authority’s, the parish council’s local knowledge, combined with an understanding of the planning process, means that its views are more likely to be heard by the planning authority, so long as the parish council provides valid planning ‘material considerations’.

Details of planning applications along with the parish council’s comments can be found on Broadland District Council’s planning pages.
