Defibrillator Training

29 November 2023

It was fantastic to see a great turn out for our 2 defibrilator training sessions last week, run by East Anglia Air Ambulance. Drayton Parish Council will look to hold further sessions in 2024. The following feedback was kindly provided by one of our attendees:

"On Monday 20th November I attended a defibrillator training course held in Drayton Village Hall. The session was run by Sharon Hunt and Josh Lawrence, members of the EAAA Community Training Team.

I had never properly seen a defibrillator before and despite understanding that they are very simple to use, I had always hoped I would never be in a position to have to use one and find I couldn’t work it and possibly not be able to help someone in need.

Sharon covered all of the DRABC. Danger, Response, Airway, Breathing and CPR. Despite having done many first aid, including CPR, courses over the years, it was good to have a refresher course.

Sharon inspired confidence in teaching the CPR technique and the use of the defibrillator.

I left the training course feeling confident that if someone was unlucky and needed my assistance with CPR and a defibrillator I can and will do my best to help them. I do not fear using a defibrillator.

Thank you Sharon and Josh and Drayton Parish Council for providing the training."
